Your Vacate Checklist

Are you vacating your rental property soon? Completing your vacate clean can be a daunting prospect, but it doesn't need to be. With a little bit of organisation and preparation, you'll be able to complete everything you need to do in no time.

We've included our top tips for those preparing to vacate soon, as well as our handy checklist.

Plan ahead

Set up a daily schedule and commit to carrying out a few cleaning tasks at the same time every day.

Go room by room

Regularly cleaning throughout your tenancy will go a long way towards simplifying your end-of-lease clean. But even then, you’ll still need to put in some elbow grease before you move out. To reduce the chance of feeling overwhelmed by the task at hand, it's best to clean one room at a time.

Be thorough

Cleaning the floors and walls is a good place to start, but you’ll need to do much more to recover your bond. Pay extra attention to kitchen appliances and other areas that aren’t part of your weekly or fortnightly cleaning schedule.

We've prepared this checklist to assist you with getting ready to vacate your rental property. We suggest you give yourself adequate time to complete all the tasks below.

We are happy to recommend professional cleaners for you to use if you wish (you will need to book in advance to ensure that cleaning can be undertaken prior to you returning keys to the premises).

Don’t forget to have the electricity, gas and telephone disconnected and remember to redirect your mail as soon as possible.
